Manager to Leader Program
Our Objective
Our mission is to provide attendees with tools and information to prepare them to develop stronger employee engagement. Let's not guess at what our managers should know. Let's give them the leadership fundamentals to build on so they can really lead their teams instead of manage, strengthening your company culture daily.
Session duration
This online program is designed for six 90 minute sessions (the first is 2 hours). We offer these in either weekly or biweekly formats to provide your managers time to practice and apply the knowledge they acquire. Before you begin, participants will be asked to take a short 15 minute survey to set the stage for the rest of the program. Small homework projects will be given to enhance the learning experience between sessions.
In addition to group sessions, each participant will receive three 60 minute coaching sessions to practice leadership fundamentals, ask questions and discuss their unique scenarios, including how to weave it into your company culture.
Session content
Sessions are broken up into six main topic areas (with room for customization based on the class needs).
- Identity – Who are you, and how to you show up for your teams? You’ll learn to identify behavioral traits of your team, and how to engage them on their best days as well as when they’re under stress.
- Leadership Fundamentals – Elements to consider including biases, past experiences, and how people respond under duress. We’ll cover everyday scenarios and discuss other viewpoints and how to reset your point of view when needed.
- Communication styles – How we communicate and what we communicate go hand in hand, including elements as simple as making consistent eye contact with your employees.
- Leading with accountability – How to manage our own, and then how to teach your teams to own their part of their responsibilities. We’ll practice various conversations to reinforce what this should look like, including performance management expectations and outcomes.
- Conflict resolution - Conflict doesn’t feel good, frankly it shouldn’t. You can maintain dignity, respect, and a solid relationship though. We’ll discuss various scenarios of hard conversations, frame them, and role play responses to help you better prepare for them.
- Employee Engagement & Retention – Weaving culture conversations into your daily workflow. We’ll discuss various strategies to help you build routines, and better engage your employees on their terms, but still connect with your company vision and values.
